The Kwara State Chapter of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has extended heartfelt commendations to the management, players, technical crew and all stakeholders of Kwara United Football Club ahead of their crucial Federation Cup final against Abakaliki FC.
The much-anticipated showdown is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
In a goodwill message, the State Chairman of YSFON, Prince Ademola Kiyesola lauded the team for their outstanding journey through the tournament and described their performance as a testament to resilience, discipline and teamwork. He emphasized that Kwara United has not only made the state proud but has also rekindled the passion of football-loving youths across the state.
Prince Kiyesola urged the players to remain focused and determined as they step into what could be a historic moment but not just for the club but for the entire state. He encouraged them to play with unity, confidence and the burning desire to inscribe Kwara’s name once again in the golden book of Nigeria’s football history.
“We are proud of your journey so far. But we are not at the finish line yet. We believed in your ability to make history and bring the trophy home. Let the spirit of Kwara, the spirit of resilience and unity guide you on the pitch,” he said.
While praying for victory, he also called for journey mercies for all fans, supporters and Kwarans both home and abroad who will travel to Lagos to support the team in the high-stakes encounter. He expressed confidence that the fans’ presence will provide the extra push the players needed to conquer their opponents.
YSFON Kwara reaffirmed its continued support for grassroots development and talent nurturing, noting that Kwara United’s success will further inspire budding talents across the state and elevate the profile of sports development in Kwara.
