In an exciting zonal quarter-final match played at Ogbomoso High School, Anglican Grammar School has emerged victorious with a 5-1 win over Ahoro-Dada Community Secondary School in the ongoing Oyo State Governor’s Cup.
Despite playing barefooted, the boys from Anglican Grammar School showcased impressive football skills, with Sunday Peter, Ajamu Victor, and Oladiti Isaiah scoring goals for their team. Ajamu Mathew netted the consolation goal for Ohoro Community School.
When asked about playing without boots, the boys revealed that they couldn’t afford to buy them, and some were participating in their first major tournament. However, they remained optimistic, with one player expressing his determination to get boots for future matches.

Speaking with the visionaire of the tournament, Coach Yomi Elijah of Peculiar Ultimate Concern Limited said he is highly delighted discovering great talents in the event.
He revealed that the development is seeing their dreams of many years come true and he had recorded great succeses at all levels
The semi-finals fixtures are scheduled for Thursday at Ogbomoso High School, according to the zonal coordinator Adegbile Zacchaeus Olaitan, Anglican Grammar School facing BAP Grammar School Ahoyaya at 9 am and BAP Grammar School Ajaawa playing CHS Iresaapa at 11 am.
