Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development, Chief Anthony Adeboye (popularly known as Zulu Authority), has showered encomiunms and praises on Kwara United Football Club and its U-19 team for their outstanding achievements in winning the 2025 President Federation Cup and the inaugural National Youth League, respectively.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the double triumph, Adeboye praised both teams for their dedication, hard work, and sincerity of purpose, which he identified as the driving force behind their historic success.
“The mindset and determination of both teams played a pivotal role in breaking the 28-year jinx of national trophy drought for Kwara State,” he said.
“This moment has rewritten Kwara’s name in gold in the annals of Nigerian football.”
He expressed deep appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Sports Commission, the club chairman, and the Football Association chairman for their contributions and commitment to grassroots and professional sports development in the state.
Adeboye also emphasized on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s passion for sports, noting that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to support policies and programmes that will revitalize sports at all levels.
“President Tinubu is committed to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria, particularly at the grassroots level, which remains the bedrock of national talent discovery and global competitiveness,” he stated.
